The Brief
Wildlife strikes are a growing problem in aviation. Most solutions are reactive — they deal with what’s happening right now rather than what’s coming.
SkyFauna was building a smarter approach. A predictive system that works across entire airspace, sitting right at the crossroads of aviation safety and wildlife conservation.
New category, new technology — they needed a brand that reflected that. Credible, future-focused, and nothing like what already existed in the space.
The Solution
The brief was clear — don’t make it look like every other environmental brand. No token bird, no generic globe, no soft gradients. This needed to feel technical and forward-thinking.
The concept came from murmuration — the way starlings move together in massive, fluid formations. It’s collective intelligence made visible. Which is exactly what SkyFauna does with data.
The core mark is an ‘S’ shape formed from hundreds of tiny starling silhouettes — representing collective motion, airspace systems and the power of predicting patterns before hazard strikes. Orbitron was chosen as the primary typeface to reinforce the tech-forward positioning.
Colour did a lot of the storytelling work too. Deep blues for airspace and operational clarity. A vivid orange accent for risk, alertness and the danger the system exists to prevent.
The Outcome
The full brand system — logo, colour, type, iconography, website and presentation templates — came together in just under two months. Fast turnaround for a project with that many moving parts.
SkyFauna is young and growing, but already thinks differently about existing and future challenges — and now has a brand to match. Built to scale, built to adapt from socials to convention presentations.
What I’m most proud of is the consistency. From the murmuration mark right through to the website and PowerPoint templates — it all feels like it belongs together. Nothing bolted on, nothing that doesn’t earn its place.
